The Caboolture Aero Club Committee is composed of dedicated volunteers who work to enhance both the facilities and social aspects of the Club. They are responsible for maintaining the airfield, staying on top of all safety aspects, and fostering a sense of community, not only amongst members but the broader community, as well as maintaining the club's online presence, financial compliance and database management.
PRESIDENT - PAUL STRIKE I am honoured to work with the club committee. During my 40years as an aviation professional, I have been fortunate to have worked all over the world in the military, airlines, gliding, RA and GA, including being a LAME and licensed pilot in 3 countries. With my equally experienced and passionate aviatrix wife, we have both worked hard to obtain the qualifications we have and decided to cut the shackles of 4 decades of working “for the man”, trading FIFO and years of night-shift with QANTASLINK for a lifestyle job doing what we love which is sharing the passion of aviation. People have helped us in the past and now we consider ourselves privileged to be in a position to “pay it forward” and help others. |

FLIGHT SAFETY - PHILLIP WATKINS I have been flying since 2017 where I obtained my RAAUS RPC at the young age of 62. Started flying P92 Eaglets at Redcliffe and then progressed to a Sport Star LSA. In late 2019, I upgraded to an RPL and began flying a RV6A which I still do to this day. Responsible for Incident Reporting. |
FIONA COOMBS - ARO My aviation journey started in 2020. I have successfully accomplished my RPC with Nav endorsement. Currently I look after the mogas bowser and the club rooms. My husband and I run a small transport business traversing the eastern seaboard. |

ROBIN WALLER I am a Quantity Surveyor, recently off work due to health reasons. I own a Sling TSI which my son recently used in a World Circumnavigation. I don't fly myself but managed the logistics and planning for the circumnavigation. This was a wonderful experience and I learned so much about flying an experimental aircraft internationally and all the permits and approvals required to do so. |
CHRIS NEWTON - COMMUNICATION Retired from my Marketing, Advertising and Publishing business in 2005. Began gliding in 1975 during a year in South Africa. Restricted PPL attained 1977 at Archerfield. Joined DDSC in 1977 and subsequently CGC. Currently enjoy flying Super Dimona Touring Motor Gliders as part of the Flying Diamond Motor Glider Group in Hangar 75. |
